On the occasion of Ek Pahila’s Birthday !

By 07/01/2012Uncategorized

On January 4, 2012, our foundation celebrated one year anniversary by supporting our first Literacy Program for the elderly at Devisthan Primary School. Currently, the country faces almost 11hours of electricity shortage everyday. Due to such circumstances, students often continue their lessons by bringing their own torch lights. Our foundation distributed chargeable lamps and stationary needed in order to motivate the elderly who attend this program.

Moreover, since most women in the village are illiterate, they are financially and domestically dependent on their husbands. This program which consists of 99% women aims at teaching them how to read, write and count. Basic education provided through such literacy programs help women communicate through letters with their family members, avoid being cheated by shop keepers and also keep track of their household finances.

In an effort to further motivate and encourage the current batch of elderly students, Ek Pahila Foundation has decided to provide the necessary funds to help this program continue for 6 months with full fleged support and enthusiasm from the students. Our foundation will also provide the stationary, teaching materials and the salary for the teacher in order to make this literacy program a success.

On behalf of Ek Pahila Foundation, I wish to thank each one of you who have supported our initiatives and helped us grow. This year, we look forward for your continued support and contribution so that together we can help fulfill some of the most humble aspirations and dreams of those who really need our help.

Happy New Year to you all!

Ek Pahila Foundation.
